When a company lawyer is hired by an organization, the lawyer represents the company entity, not its shareholders or employees. Because as we have early said, a corporation is treated a lot like a person under the law. A corporation is treated as a singular entity or "person" under the law, break away from its owners or shareholders.  A corporate lawyer who helps a client form a corporation might later be called upon for other legal advice associated with the startup or management of the business, like reviewing a lease for office space or equipment, or drafting employment contracts, nondisclosure and non-compete agreements.
